Blood donations and HIV helped to inspire our startup. You can read that story here. So to recognize the ninth annual World Blood Donor Day, we’re encouraging you to donate blood if you can. It’s not for everyone, but for those who are able, it’s a rewarding, quick way to help save lives.
Because in 39 countries, blood isn’t screened for transmissible infections like HIV or hepatitis. And in 47 percent of low-income countries, blood is tested in laboratories without quality assurance.
