Unilever is recalling Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Nougat Crunch ice cream because several batches of the product lack an allergy statement on the packaging.
The allergy warning alerts would have stated:
“Allergy Information: Fudge covered wafer pieces have been manufactured on shared equipment that processes peanuts and tree nuts.”

Those nuts include peanuts or tree nuts–such as walnuts, hazelnuts and Brazil nuts. At the time of the recall announcement, no injuries or incidents had been reported.

A day after the Unilever announcement, R&R Ice Cream announced a recall of ChokaBlok ice cream in The Chocolate Extremist, The Peanut Butter Nutter, and Billionaires Dynamite varieties. The ice creams could contain wood fragments from popsicle sticks, said the Food Standards Agency.
