ConsumerBell loves making safety easier and getting accurate information whever possible, that’s why we enjoy working with all kinds of organizations, including government agencies like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to make information accessible for everyone. We’re working with FDA to find experienced people to serve as consumer representatives on their advisory committees, boards, and consumer organizations.
A consumer representative has an important role in FDA advisory committee deliberations. To qualify, he or she must be able to analyze scientific data, understand research design, discuss benefits and risks, and evaluate the safety and efficacy of products under review. It is also required that the representative have an affiliation with and/or active participation in consumer or community-based organizations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
•Represent the consumer perspective on issues and actions before the advisory committee.
•Serve as a liaison between the committee and interested consumers, associations, coalitions, and consumer organizations.
•Facilitate dialogue with the advisory committees on scientific issues that affect consumers.

Knowledgeable in the field of allergenic extracts that are used for the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis (‘‘hay fever’’), allergic sinusitis, allergic conjunctivitis, bee venom allergy, and food allergy.
