Parent company Johnson & Johnson announced yet another recall today for infant’s Tylenol oral suspension in grape flavor for problems with dosing.
The recall, specifically issued by McNeil Consumer Healthcare, stems from a small number of complaints referenced on the company’s press release.
It reports difficulties using the Tylenol “SimpleMeasure” syringe; some parents tried using it by inserting it into a cover on the top of the bottle to withdraw the medicine but accidentally pushed part of the measuring system into the bottle. The recall affects about 574,000 bottles.
While no adverse events have been reported, this recall is the second recall in three weeks for J&J baby products. Aveeno baby lotion was recalled for staphylococcus bacteria.
McNeil also recalled Motrin IB a couple months ago.
