Ready for your close up?

After a hard day of work, followed by the long commute from New York City to New Jersey I often fall asleep with my make-up on (and occasionally my work outfit). Waking up the next morning, my skin decides to retaliate by leaving extremely unwanted blemishes.

Luckily, I have found the perfect remedy to battle those rough mornings for only 10 minutes in these 5 easy steps! I’ve included my favorite products only as a suggestion – it’s important to find what works best for your skin, so try a few different products until you find The One.

1. Rinse. Start by rinsing your face with warm water to open up your pores. Continue to rinse with a light daily scrub. Gently rub your face with the scrub to get rid of “yesterday’s look.”

2. Wash. Use a face wash that has a small percentage of Salicylic Acid. The Salicylic Acid helps dry up those oily built-up blemishes. Finish the rinse using cold water to close the pores helping prevent dirt entering your skin.

3. Dry. Softly dry your face with a towel. Make sure not too dry aggressively, otherwise you may irritate the skin.

4. Refresh. Using a cotton ball, lightly moisten it with a facial stringent. This will take away any excess dirt that resides in our pours. You’ll feel a refreshing tingle.

5. Moisturize. Finally, massage your face with a facial moisturizer.

Voilà, you’re all set! Remember not to put on as much concealer on, we want to keep the pores breathing. I’m not promising that your blemishes will go away magically as soon as the moisturizer is on, however this is a great start to repairing the damage we do to our skin. Those pesky blemishes will be overlooked by your wonderfully glowing skin.
