On May 7, Nissan recalled certain 2010 Nissan Altima vehicles manufactured from April 7 through April 13, 2010. Some of the front side member assembly components may not have been welded to specification due to a “tool maintenance error.”

If several structural welds are out of specification on a vehicle, it may have an effect on the vehicle’s crash performance.

An estimated 113 vehicles are included in the recall. Owners were notified by Nissan on May 13. If you have questions whether your 2010 Altima could be included, you should take your vehicle in to your nearest dealer. Inspection and if necessary, repairs, are free of charge.
